unofficial music
How’s this for an odd one? Someone has composed an entire unofficial orchestral score for New Moon, replete with tracks like “Riding on Motorcycles with Werewolves”, “Cliff Diving” and “The Volturi”.der? genre: christian & gospel? check out a separate fanmade song by hana pestle after the jump.
From the audio previews, it sounds like it’s actually a pretty decent, accomplished piece. Listen for yourself at itunes.
UPDATE: It’s also available for cheaper ($7) at Amazon.com

Alexandre Desplat
Alexandre Desplat is Scoring Twilight Saga: New Moon?!
April 24, 2009
Source: Upcoming Film Scores
by Alex Billington
Some heartbreaking news today. French composer Alexandre Desplat will be scoring The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The news was confirmed by the Upcoming Film Scores blog, where they say that Desplat has a working relationship with director Chris Weitz. Why is this heartbreaking? Because Desplat is one of the finest composers working today and I was hoping there wouldn't be anything that would actually interest me in New Moon. Desplat will be replacing Carter Burwell, who provided the score for the first Twilight last year. I actually liked Burwell's score, it was probably the best part of that entire movie.
Desplat received Oscar nominations for his scores to The Queen and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button most recently. He has also composed the scores for Stephen Gaghan's Syriana, John Curran's The Painted Veil, Ang Lee's Lust, Caution, and Chris Weitz's The Golden Compass. He is currently working on Julie & Julia, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life. He does some incredible work and I've loved most of his scores. It'll be interesting to see how much work Desplat does for New Moon, considering Twilight featured mostly pop songs and only the occasional orchestral score (with also Bella's Lullaby).
An example of his work...listen for the piano solo 30 seconds in...can't you see a lost & lonely edward wandering aimlessly...ahh gives me chills!

Would you grab his beer bottle?
.jpg)
jocose: Will you sign our cds for us?
Bobby: Sure! Places beer bottle snugly between legs to free up his hands to sign.
kaycob: Do you want me to hold your beer for you?
Bobby: thrusts pelvis forward
kaycob: dying, quickly glancing around to see if anyone else is noticing this
Bobby: holds thrust a beat too long, giggles, hands bottle to kaycob
So there was my chance at immortality and I missed it. I should have reached, grabbed, tapped, squeezed, anything! *hanging head in shame* read more...

come on over to the bitter shade

So which one you ladies will be guilty of the following during Bobby Long's show on Saturday:
a) touching Rob inappropriately
b) shaking and crying during Bobby's fairly mellow and quiet set
c) consuming raw fish at Nobu for a birthday dinner (even though you will have other birthdays!) rather than hearing Let Me Sign live
On a visit today to EW's offices, the lanky, swoopy-haired Brit talked to us about his upcoming American tour dates, and the hazards of ancillary -- if still white-hot -- fame. "Rob gets it 99 million percent more," Long admits, "but it's still mad. He and I went to the premiere in London together, and he was just getting molested right and left. For me, it's clearly not as extreme, but it's still amazing to watch. And you know," he adds with a laugh, "there was free booze everywhere, so we got quite drunk and I just kept bothering the guy from Superbad, McLovin'. He was very nice about it."
Long -- whose stripped-down, acoustic style recalls many of the artists he professes to love, including Elliott Smith, Ryan Adams, and the Felice Brothers, as well as more classic acts like Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan and the Beatles -- would prefer to be known strictly for his music, but he admits that a gift horse's mouth is a tough thing to look into: "Twilight has given me an amazing opportunity, and beggars can't be choosers. I mean, it's gotten me to New York for the first time, and I love it here already. Though I have played a few shows where I worry for certain females in the audience. Sometimes they get so shaky, and I'm like, 'Are you OK? Do you need some water?'"
Also, I think the chances of the Dazzling One to appear at the show are pretty slim since the entire Cullen family flew into Vancouver today. But maybe they can shoot the birthday scene in less than 5 days????
hugh says rob is a “really good singer”
He was here to promote and do a press conference for the upcoming X-Men - the origins: Wolverine and I got the chance to ask him about his karaoke night in Tokyo.
He looked kinda surprised that I knew about it, but then he nicely answered that Robert Pattinson is “a really good singer.” read more...
