My wife was in Twilight Denial. And I realized this was not the first time. She told the clerk at the video store that she was buying the Twilight DVD for her niece. The only problem is - she has no niece. She bought the books "for our son" when our son hadn't shown the slightest interest in the series at all. And I suspect that she is not the only Twilight Addict to be in denial about the depths of her problem.please read the rest of the hilarity (and the comments) here
Somehow, up until now, I had missed all the classic signs of Twilight Denial:Refusal by your wife to acknowledge any previous interest in Twilight whenever it is brought up in public.
Wife claims that she did not enjoy the film when subject is broached, or weakly admit "it wasn't too bad."
When guests comes to your house, your wife spends the previous afternoon hiding any Twilight paraphernalia.
Wife makes concerted efforts to suppress any emotional response whenever the words "Robert Pattinson" are uttered.
You begin to get e-mails from Twilight bloggers asking if she is okay because she hasn't logged on or commented in days.
buckley
Whatever happened to that damn Jeff Buckley biopic that was announced years ago that seems to have gone nowhere?hmm....................read the full article here read more...
...
Attempt #1 at the biopic was actually made by Buckley fan, Brad Pitt, who once achieved Guibert's blessing, and then hired Emma Forrest, a British novelist and journalist, to write a screenplay in the vein of the 1979 Bette Midler film “The Rose,” according to the New York Times article from '06. Both of her "too fantastic" drafts were rejected (Buckley met the ghost of Judy Garland in one ill-conceived scene) and that version fizzled fast and Pitt gave up (Guibert has been notoriously hands on, which has perhaps persuaded other filmmakers, but it's obviously a legacy she feels she must protect, and rightly so).
...
David Browne's 2001 biography, “Dream Brother: The Lives and Music of Jeff and Tim Buckley” was optioned in 2005 by Train Houston, an L.A. writer who briefly interested Tobey Maguire’s production company in the project, but Guibert disliked his version of the script as well and the project halted.
Guibert and Michelle Sy, who executive-produced "Finding Neverland," then tried for the aforementioned take #2 that apparently went nowhere either.
...
Finally some new news via the Australian press, which we can confirm we've known about for some time. Orian Williams, who produced the well-received Joy Division, Ian Curtis biopic, "Control," in onboard, and a new screenwriter has been hired, Ryan Jaffe, who wrote "The Rocker" (please hold your comments on that one).
...
The Aussie Courier Mail says that Jared Leto, James Franco, Robert Pattinson and James Marsden are all interested in the part and we can confirm producers are interested in them as well.
"Whoever gets the part will need a lot of self-discipline because they won't be able to fake it," Guibert said in the Oz interview. "It's going to take a phenomenal set of skills."
But no script is complete so no one's officially attached, just interest from many parties (another well-named young actor is apparently really hot to see some pages, but we're not at liberty to say his name, plus again, very early days).
...
So anyhow, yes take three on the Jeff Buckley biopic is currently underway. When it hits the screen? These things take a while. One point of contention: every report about Buckley says he is known for recording the "definitive" version of "Hallelujah," and while we like his celestial-voiced falsetto, the definitive version of that song will always be the one made by its creator, Leonard Cohen. Sorry, Buckley fans. That said, bring on the biopic, we'd be interested to see how it pans out.
there's life after twilight?
Keep it together tweens, but if there was ever a movie tailored just for you, Easy A is it!from hollywood reporter:
A high-school retelling of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, the flick has landed itself one hell of a good looking cast. Twilight baddie Cam Gigandet and Gossip Girl cutie Penn Badgley will be the resident hotties of the film working alongside the likes of Lisa Kudrow, Alyson Michalka, Amanda Bynes, and the leading lady, Emma Stone.
Other than Emma, none of the actor's roles have been revealed, but the script is said to take a comedic and modern stab at the Hawthorne classic. Emma will play a student who is ostracized thanks to a vicious rumor about her reputation with the guys. She decides to use the rumor mill to her advantage and "pits puritanical students and teachers against their liberal, free-lovin’ counterparts."
The Liberty Media studio has signed up for a modern take on "Hamlet" and attached a slew of big names to pull off the task.
"Twilight" and "thirteen" director Catherine Hardwicke is attached to direct, with Emile Hirsch, who helped conceive the idea, attached to star as the title character.
Ron Nyswaner, best known for penning Oscar winner "Philadelphia," will write the script.
"Milk" producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen will produce via their Jinks/Cohen banner.
The company said it is awaiting a finished script in the coming months and hopes to go into production not long after.
The new "Hamlet" will center on similar themes as the original play but will be set in contemporary America. In the new version, a young man must decide whether to kill his uncle to avenge the death of his father.

New Moon author and queen bee Stephenie Meyer hit #26 on the 2009 Forbes Celebrity 100 List which measures the pay, web presence and press notoriety of celebrity figures. She was tagged as a $50 million earner, and Forbes said–read more...
"Thanks to the success of Meyer’s Twilight series, 2008 became the year of the vampire. The low-profile author sold 29 million books last year, releasing two new novels (Breaking Dawn and The Host) and selling hoards of paperbacks of what have become instant classics (Twilight, Eclipse and New Moon). Last November, gothy fans camped out to catch the first film based on the series; Twilight grossed $70 million opening weekend. A partial rough draft of the fifth Twilight book leaked online last August; Meyer published the full draft on her Web site and announced the book wouldn’t be published."

We hear rumblings that blonde ingénue Emilie de Ravin has been tapped to star opposite Robert Pattinson in his upcoming drama Remember Me.
Known for her turns on ABC’s Lost and the high school noir film Brick, de Ravin will play Pattinson’s love interest in Remember Me, about a couple struggling to stay together despite individual family tragedies.
Summit Entertainment has set Emilie de Ravin ("Lost"), Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper to star alongside Robert Pattinson in "Remember Me," the Allen Coulter-directed drama that begins production in New York on June 15.kaycob: i approve of this casting! just the right amount of quirky pretty to match rob. thank goodness they didnt cast emmy rossum. i do not like her. too perky pretty. stop smiling. pls.
Lena Olin is negotiating to join the cast.
Pattinson plays a young man whose brother's suicide has split up his parents (Brosnan and Olin) and left him sleepwalking through life. De Ravin will play a young woman who, after watching her mother get killed before her eyes, seizes life to its fullest. Cooper is being courted to play her father.
Will Fetters penned the script, with a rewrite by Jenny Lumet ("Rachel Getting Married"). Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson are producing through their Underground Films banner.
De Ravin next will be seen in the Michael Mann-directed "Public Enemies."
Brosnan just completed the Roman Polanski-directed "The Ghost" and is shooting the Chris Columbus-helmed "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief."

RIP: dob - june 2, 2003
plug in your dob (date of birth) above. we didn't know it at the time, but we might as well have died 6 years ago to this day. that was the night that stephenie meyer had a dream:
... two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately.so, happy birthday to the twilight dream...and the end of our lives...ruined...forever. read more...

So Hot — Robert and Kristen Spotted Together the Morning After MTV Awards!
Robert Pattinson arrived in NYC last night flying in from LA after Sunday's MTV Movie Awards — but let's rewind back to the post-show after party for two. Robert and Kristen Stewart were spotted leaving the Charlie Chaplin House at the same time on Monday morning after they both spent the night in the boutique hotel. After cleaning up at the awards, the costars also shared an intimate dinner date at Cecconi's rather than attending the official party. Kristen and Rob's chemistry was undeniable on stage accepting for their best kiss and we've seen the two looking close out together before many times. Not to mention, we all know just how amazing he looks when he takes off his shirt so our imaginations are going wild. What do you think — are Robert and Kristen really more than friends?
